The Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) H. Achmad Fikry received a visit from the writers of the novel "Jendela Seribu Sungai" Miranda Seftiana who is a native of Kandangan (HSS) and Avesina Soebli who is famous in the Indonesian film industry.
Avesina Soebli is the producer of a number of phenomenal movies, including Madre (2013), Edensor (2013), Ada Surga di Rumahmu (2015), and Hujan di Bulan Juni (2017).
They came to explore the plan to make a film based on the novel "Jendel Seribu Sungai", and will take the shooting location in Loksado and Nagara (HSS), as well as Banjarmasin.
"We came to HSS as preparation and research regarding the plan to make a film whose story is based on the novel "Jendela Seribu Sungai," said Avesina, Friday (21/1) morning at the regent's office.
This film tells the story of children who have dreams, but their parents wish otherwise. This film depicts a blend of Banjar culture and Meratus Dayak culture.
She admitted that she had been down the Nagara river with actor Mathias Muchus. The shooting will open up opportunities for HSS youth to participate in the casting in making the film.
Regent H. Achmad Fikry said he welcomed the plan to make the film. The HSS government will later assist and facilitate the shooting process.
"We also express our gratitude, because if this film is finished and watched by many people, it will certainly make Loksado more known outside. We will be greatly helped by this film later, and we hope that tourist visits will increase," he said.
