The Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cultural park in East Jakarta will be beautified under a special arrangement ahead of the G20 event.
President director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (TWC), Edy Setijono, said that starting this month, the TMII area arrangement has begun.
The physical revitalization will be completed around August or September this year, he informed.
"Starting in January, the arrangement of this area has begun. We hope that the physical revitalization stage can be completed around August to welcome the G20 activities. We hope that there will be one G20 side-event at TMII. Borobudur and Prambanan must also become places for G20 side-events,” Setijono said in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.
Related to the arrangement, the closing or opening of TMII for tourists is still being studied, he added.
"So, there will be stages and these are still being studied,” Setijono said.
TMII is expected to offer a real glimpse into the beauty of Indonesian culture, he remarked.
"So, the first stage is area arrangement. We will return the area of TMII to its proper layout. TMII should be our language for showcasing the beauty of Indonesia. TMII should be a place where people really see the beauty of our nation's culture,” he said.

The Ministry of Communication and Informatics had earlier called for participation from the public ahead of the G20 event and prepared creative communication and innovation programs for providing an understanding of the 2022 G20 in Indonesia to the public.
"We will continue to develop other creative programs, so that the people understand and are able to participate in ensuring the success of the Indonesian Presidency of the G20," director general of information and public communication at the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Usman Kansong, stated on Friday.
The ministry has readied an activity on the sales of G20 merchandise for the start-up incubation program, as part of the creative communication and innovation programs, he informed.
In terms of the communication aspect, apart from using the ministry's social media channels, the G20Pedia e-book will continue to be updated in accordance with the developments and discussion on issues at the G20 2022, he said.
Thus, the public can clearly understand the schedule and ideas implemented at the G20 in Indonesia, Kansong added.
Moreover, the ministry has conducted events by collaborating with e-commerce providers and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, he said.
The ministry has collaborated with e-commerce providers in an effort to provide a virtual space for MSMEs to sell their G20 merchandise and contribute to the Proud of Indonesian Products National Movement (Gernas BBI), he added.
