Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru AIDS Commission train middle and high school students as a cadre of combating HIV/AIDS.
KPA Banjarbaru Secretary Edi Sampana here on Sunday said the number of middle and high school students trained reached 80 people.
"We invite high school students represent their school to be trained on Saturday (10/10). The number that come up to 80 people," he said.
He said training for students who represent their school performed in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lambung Mangkurat Banjarbaru. Dozens of students were given knowledge about HIV/AIDS and they are expected to convey their knowledge to classmates or neighborhood.
"The purpose of the training they are aware of HIV/AIDS, so they can prevent from being transmitted to themselves and their environment," he said.
In addition to the training given, students are directed to make a report of activities related to HIV/AIDS in the school environment and reported to the KPA Banjarbaru.
"The activities such as discussion of HIV/AIDS in schools and provide counseling to school friends and any reports to KPA given transport money," he said.
It said training of middle and high school students as cadre because they are in age potentially attacked by the deadly disease virus.
