Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Use of taps water produced by PDAM Intan Banjar increased during dry season due to drought wells.


"The use of taps water during the dry increases because customers switch from wells water to taps," said Technical Director of PDAM Said Umar in Banjarbaru on Monday.

He said, the increase use of taps clean water visible from the customers' water meter rose from normal usage 14-15 cubic meters to 19-20 cubic meters per month.

In addition to increased usage per customer, the production of clean water taps in August also increased compared to July to reach 40 thousand cubic meters.

"The production of clean water in IPA II Pinus in July as many as 524,966 cubic meters and August rose by 40 thousand cubic meters more to 561,340 cubic meters," he said.

On the other hand, he acknowledged, taps also face problems related to flow of water from Riam Kanan irrigation channels as raw water decreased from normal height.

"The height of normal raw water in the irrigation channel 80 centimeters to one meter, but now it remaining 40-50 centimeters, so it becomes a problem for us," said Head of Production Ifansyah.

However, the production of clean water from IPA II Pinus remained normal at 200 liters per second, serving more than 30 thousand subscribers in main zone in Banjarbaru and Martapura.
