Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the Banjarbaru Environment Agency (BLH) Fahruddin assessed the haze that blanketed the entire area of ​​the city since last week categorized as dangerous.


"In plain, fairly dense smog categorized as dangerous, so people should not inhale directly," he said in Banjarbaru Monday.

He said BLH has not measured the concentrations of smog index, including knowing the content of harmful substances due to damaged equipment. However, he confirmed, seeing haze appeared in the morning is in the category of dangerous especially with a pungent odor.

"The air is unhealthy as it is filled with haze and odor are also seared signifies quite a lot of harmful substances in it," he said.

He appealed to the public especially those who already have a history of respiratory diseases such as asthma to avoid inhalation of air mixed with smoke directly.

"Use a mask despite being in the home and reduce the activity outside home, especially if the fog is still thick, so avoid respiratory diseases," he insisted.

Earlier, the Banjarbaru acting Mayor Martinus issued a circular to civil servants and the public to reduce outdoor activities due to the thick smog.
