Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Ministry of Agriculture will facilitate organic farmers to obtain certification of their products so they can sell their agricultural products at large.


Director of Agricultural Product Processing of the Ministry of Agriculture Andjar Rochani on Dissemination seminar Fresh Food Safety Regulation of Plant Origin (PSAI) in Banjarmasin on Friday said the certification to help farmers gain public trust.

"Through the products which have been certified, it is expected that consumers will trust and confidence, when the products sold are organic products," she said.

However, she added, seven certification bodies in Indonesia entirely in Java, making it difficult for farmers to obtain certification more quickly.

"Nevertheless we will continue to assist the farmer groups to have their organic agricultural products immediately certified," she said.

The certification label is divided into three, namely prime three, which means that agricultural products are safe for consumption. Then prima two, meaning in addition to safety, the product is also environmentally friendly. Lastly prime one, in addition to a safe and environmentally friendly, the product also pay attention to the management of safety by implementing labor laws.
