Two para-athletes from North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District, Ansyari in athletics, and Irma Yunita in archery, who represented South Kalimantan at the XVI National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) in Papua, have contributed three gold medals.

HSU Regent H Abdul Wahid Hk in Amuntai, Monday (8/11) expressed his joy for the brilliant achievement of HSU athletes at Peparnas after previously the district's athletes also won gold medals at the Papua PON.

"Hopefully this achievement to motivate other athletes to be more confident and work hard because anyone can achieve brilliant achievements," said Wahid.

Ansyari with the F41 classification successfully grabbed the gold medal in the shot put with the longest distance of 8.17 meters.

In the javelin throwing, Ansyari again presented a gold medal. He managed to present 2 gold medals for South Kalimantan.

Ansyari is a resident of Gampa Raya Village, Sungai Tabukan Sub-district, HSU, and he has been just one year in sport. He was coached and trained by HSU NPC coach H. Mulyadi S.Pd.

Meanwhile, Irma, a resident of Padang Basar Hilir Village, Amuntai Utara Sub-district, won the gold medal in an archery competition with a total distance of 2x50 meters for women's compound open.

The National Paralympic Games was attended by 11 athletes from HSU who joined South Kalimantan NPC contingent.

Chairman of HSU NPC Febrianty Rielena Astuti said that they competed in 6 sports, namely athletic, archery, swimming, judo, table tennis, and shooting.
