The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Social, Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning Agency will provide financial assistance Rp75,000 per day to people with mental health disorders (ODGJ)'s family who accompanied the patient during hospital treatment.
Acting Head of the agency Wahyudi Rahmad said that the handling of ODGJ needs the family to assist, thus the agency provide guard fee so as not to burden the family during the patient treatment.
"With this assistance, the ODGJ's family will be serious to accompany the patient with no burden of making money," said Wahyudi after the inauguration of the inpatient room for ODGJ at the Haji Damanhuri General Hospital (RSHD) in Barabai, Monday (Oct 11, 2021).
He expounded that the agency will take action if an ODGJ is disturbing or endangering other people or himself.
"Our involvement is in the initial process, from picking up to send to the hospital, assisting the administrative process, usually ODGJ does not have KTP (ID) card, family card, and BPJS," he said.
After that, the process of returning home and socializing with the community that the ODGJ has recovered is part of the Social Agency duties.
"We do this to ensure that ODGJ patient who has recovered can be accepted by the community," said Wahyudi Rahmad.

Director of RSHD Barabai dr Nanda Sujud Andi Yudha Utama said that as in SOP the ODGJ admitted to inpatient care must be accompanied by his or her family because the patient is not simply medicated but getting psychological and social communication therapy.
"Eight rooms are prepared for mental illness inpatient. Two (other) rooms are for specialists," said dr Nanda.
Provision of inpatient rooms for ODGJ is a mandate of the medium-term development plan (RPJMD) of the district because there are quite a lot of ODGJ in HST.
