Tanjung, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Seven sub-districts in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, forming Tapping Rubber Care Team (RPBSK) consisting of farmer groups in order to improve the quality and production of rubber.


Head of Tabalong Forestry and Plantation Aberani Aberar here on Thursday said the seven sub-districts that have had RPBSK are Jaro, Haruai, Tanta, Murung Pudak, Tanjung, Upau and Muara Uya.

"Previously, we have formed a Bokar Processing and Marketing Unit (UPPB), a combination of farmer groups and includes here RPBSK as local government efforts to increase production and the quality of rubber," Aberar explains.

In Jaro, UPPB and RPBSK has three rubber farmer groups by the name Teratau I with a total production of 5,500 kilograms of rubber per week.

While the RPBSK Usaha Bersama in the village of Masingai II, Sub-district of Upau, with members of five farmer groups, has a greater production 16,500 kilograms per week.

"Total production of rubber from seven sub-districts incorporated in UPPB and RPBSK currently reaches 50,600 kilograms per week," explains Aberar.

Meanwhile, in order to improve the quality of local rubber, Regent Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani to launch Improving the Quality Rubber Society Movement (Gemas Mekar) with the involvement of the Non Governmental Organization (NGO).
