The Banjarmasin Health Agency confirmed that as of Friday, September 17, 2021, the COVID-19 vaccination in the city has reached 43 percent of the target population.
Mass vaccinations, he said, are continued to be implemented in collaboration with TNI (military) and Polri (police) with a target of 300,000 citizens.
He said that the significant increase in the search of targets for vaccination was supported by sufficient vaccine stocks.
"So every time the vaccine comes, we immediately inject it, thus we hope to quickly reach the target," said Machli Riyadi.
In addition to the public, COVID-19 vaccines were also administered to school students and university students to expedite to achieve herd immunity for the preparation of face-to-face learning.

Banjarmasin City is currently at level 3 of the implementation of public activity restriction (PPKM) to stem the transmission of COVID-19.
Although the spread is slowing down, Machli Riyadi reminded that it still occurs.
He urged the public not to be careless and neglect the discipline of health protocols.
Banjarmasin, he said, must strive to reduce the transmission considering that the city has been in the status of level 4 PPKM from July 24 to September 12, 2021.
"If the level 4 PPKM to be extended again, of course, there will be many impacts on the economy and others," said Machli Riyadi.
