The Kotabaru Naval Base helps impoverished communities living on the coastal areas by distributing basic necessities.

"This time we hand over assistance in Burung Island, Tanah Bumbu District. This island is under the guidance of Kotabaru Navy," said Commander of Kotabaru Naval Base Marine Lt. Col. (P) Sadarianto in Batulicin.

The Commander, who was accompanied by Chief of Jalasenastri branch five of Coordinator Branch XIII DJA II Yunice Sadarianto, said that the assistance was part of the 76th anniversary of the Navy.

He said that in the condition of the COVID-19 pandemic many residents need the help of other people because they do not have a regular income.

The Navy wants to be present as a state servant who is able to protect and provide a solution for the communities.

"Kotabaru Naval Base continues to synergize with injasmar to help ease the burden on the maritime community, especially fishermen. We also ask for prayer from the residents of Burung island so that Indonesian Navy soldiers can succeed the aspire of the state to realize a strong and a growing Indonesia," he said.
