Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of Banjarmasin Highways Gusti Riduan Sofyani said plans development of bridge that connects village of Sungai Jingah to Village of Sungai Bilu is still in the feasibility study.


"We agree to realize the bridge, because its function is considered vital to solve the density of traffic flow in the city of about 800 thousand inhabitants," he told reporters in Banjarmasin on Sunday.

The realization of this year, still includes feasibility studies and Detail Engineering Design (DED). After which it will be determined how to facilitate land acquisition for the construction of this large bridge.

"Banjarmasin City Government only responsible for the land acquisition, while the construction of the bridge will be of the Public Works of South Kalimantan Government," he said.

The bridge that will cross a Martapura River between the village of Sungai Jingah and Sungai Bilu in Kampung Melayu will be 125 meters long and nine meters wide.

When the bridge is realized, then in Banjarmasin there are eight major bridges crossing Martapura River to break up traffic congestion which is increasingly felt by the public.
