Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tiga Roda cement producer PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk Tarjun, Kotabaru District, succeeded in fostering local farmers in its desa binaan under its assistance in developing cattle and goats.
SSECSR Dept Head Indocement Factory Tarjun Teguh Iman Basuki in Kotabaru said on Tuesday the PT Indocement Training Center and Community Empowerment (P3M) facilitates the cattle and goats program conducted in 11 desa binaan (empowered village) since 2013.
"In just two years, from 25 farmers, recorded 14 successful breeder and almost succeeded in developing a livestock," he said.
Initially, Indocement provided two goats to individual farmers. Having bred by farmers its numbers growing by 300-500 percent.
Kardi, a farmer in the village of Langadai, for example, he got two goats from Indocement, now breeded to 12. Other successful breeder, Sunaryo, villager of Tarjun, from two goats he received in 2013, has now grown to 12 goats.
While Musai, a farmer in the village of Langadai, got the help with two cows. Now the cattle breeding to seven cows.
Teguh said, a special program of goat farming now entering the third generation and will continue to be rolled to the people in the empowered village.

Head of Kelumpang Hilir sub-districy Budi Antara expressed his appreciation to the efforts of developing farms by Indocement. "This program is very good to help villagers improve their welfare. It is expected that this CSR program continues with activities that benefit the community," he said.
