The Central Hulu Sungai (HST) Police together with the local government carried out a planting movement as part of a reforestation and environmental preservation program by the South Kalimantan Police. 

The regent and the regional leadership communication forum (forkopimda) took part the action that took place at the HST Police Dormitory neighborhood in Pagat Village, Batu Benawa Sub-district, Friday (August 20). 

A total of 1,000 tree seedlings were planted, including 30 avocados, 30 soursops, 100 spathodea (African tulip trees), 40 trambesi (Samanea saman or rain trees), 40 mahagony, 660 dogfruits, and 100 sengons (Albazia).

"Planting trees like this is certainly not commensurate with the extent of environmental damage that has occurred. However, this effort is very valuable if carried out consistently and seriously, so the trees we plant can live and thrive and benefit all," said the Police Chief.

"To all parties, including local government, TNI–Polri, mass organization or NGOs as well as all level of society to continue to actively maintain and preserve the trees we plant and also to continue reforestation starting from the place we live and work environment that will benefit our children and grandchildren in the future," he said.

The Police Chief added that hopefully this blessed day will be colored with sincerity through planting trees. Happy planting trees, planting trees planting God's rewards, insya Allah (God Willing) it will be a charity of worship for us all.

Regent H Aulia Oktafiandi appreciated and fully supported the tree planting activity. "I really appreciate and support tree planting. What we are doing now is a step to protect the environment. We take care of nature, nature takes care of us," said the Regent.
