Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, police managed to thwart the smuggling of 1,700 liters of subsidized kerosene to Banjarmasin by using minibus.


The Tanah Laut police chief AKBP Rizal Irawan through the Head of Detective Criminal Unit AKP Ade Paparihi on Thursday said police arrested two suspects, namely I, the owner of the oil base in Karang Jawa, Sub-district of Pelaihari, and S, citizen of Bati-bati sub-district.

The arrest of the perpetrator with the evidence was on Tuesday (2/6) at around 18:30. When checked, S can not show document or carrier letter of subsidized kerosene.

Ade said, from the results of development, police arrested a woman with initials I, the owner of the oil base, origin of the goods purchased.

"The two suspects detained for further investigation," he said.

Police, said Ade, will ask for input from PT Pertamina related to the sales price, because based on the recognition of the suspect I, shesells kerosene by Rp6.000 per liter.

"The it was about to be sold to Banjarmasin Rp7 thousand, according to S," he said.

Both actors, he said, could be threatened with Article 55 of Law No.22/2001 on oil and gas with the threat of six years in prison and a fine of up to Rp60 million.
