The City Government of Banjarmasin encouraged new entrepreneurs to build a brand as the identity and character of their products to be able to thrive during the difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Everyone must be creative, especially new entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic, we the city government encourage you to build your brand," said Deputy Mayor H Arifin Noor at the 2021 Career Talk National Seminar, Saturday.

The seminar was jointly organized online by the Banjarmasin State Polytechnic (Poliban) and Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) with a theme "Building MSME business brand during digitalization era in the new normal".

Arifin Noor remarked that the seminar was very useful, not only for students but for the public, especially the new entrepreneurs so they can develop their business.

In the digitalization era, according to him, in addition to building a brand, the entrepreneurs need is to form a community or social groups.

With these groups, he continued, the entrepreneurs in the future can become agents of digital education, for business development and community empowerment, to open new jobs, so they can help community business and MSME.

The Banjarmasin City Government, he said, from 2016 to 2021 has created and fostered more than 2,500 new entrepreneurs. The program is then continued during his leadership period with Mayor H Ibnu Sina.

"We hope many students to join this program," he said.
