Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Administration plans to build a one kilometer bridge connecting Pulaulaut with Sebuku Island to open the backward villages in the area.


Regent Irhami Ridjani here on Friday said the construction of the bridge connecting the two regions badly needed, in order to accelerate equitable development in the islands.

"My goal, there are three which must be resolved any time soon," said Regent whose period will end in August 10, 2015.

First, the construction of the Pulaulaut to Kalimantan mainland bridge along 6.5 kilometers with funds Rp3.5 trillion.

Second, the construction of a bridge over the sea that connects the siring Laut Park - Pertamina along 3.5 kilometers with approximately Rp328 billion, to parse traffic congestion in urban areas around 2020.

Third, the construction of the Pulaulaut - Sebuku Island bridge. Currently Sebuku Island economy has been growing rapidly, and needs to be supported by a smooth transport.

With two major companies operating in Sebuku island, namely, PT Sebuku Iron Ores Lateritic (SILO) and PT Bahari Horizon Sebuku (BSC) Group, has brought Sebuku Island which has eight villages were growing rapidly.

Supporting the development, local governments should facilitate the development of infrastructure that still lacking, namely the bridge that connects the two areas.
