Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A popular jamu maker, PT Sido Muncul, is expected to build a plant in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, said local regent.


Regent Kotabaru Irhami Ridjani conveyed the offer to the General Manager of PT Sido Muncul Dian Risdianto during a visit to the herb industry in Semarang on Tuesday.

"With the herbal medicine industry from upstream to downstream can later create new jobs, so people's prosper will also increase," he said.

GM Sido Muncul Dian Risdianto admits it has been cooperating with one of the company in Kotabaru to meet the needs of industrial raw materials of herbal medicine, especially ginger.

He also welcomed the expectations of Regent Kotabaru. He said it would consider building factory outside Java, especially in Kotabaru.

Earlier, Chairman of the Kotabaru's DPRD Hj Alfisah said, the assembly supports local government efforts to hook the biggest traditional herbal medicine company to invest in Kotabaru.

The local government through the Kotabaru Cooperatives and SMEs Agency has cooperated with the modern herbal medicine company in the supply of red ginger as a medicinal raw materials.
