PT Adaro Indonesia has begun to administer the COVID- 19 vaccines to thousands of its employees.
At least 2,194 employees of PT Adaro Indonesia and sister companies are scheduled to take part in the mass vaccination program starting Wednesday (July 7, 2021) at the HSE Excellent Building, Simpang Wara, Tabalong District.
In addition to PT Adaro Indonesia, employees of PT SIS, JPI, Balangan Coal, Adaro Logistic, AWP, and Adaro Energy participated in the vaccination.
Adaro cooperates with Tirta Medica Tanjung Clinics and the first stage of vaccination is carried out for two weeks.
According to Dian Sugiharto, IHOH Section Head of PT Adaro Indonesia, Adaro targets 160 doses of vaccine to be inoculated to employees every day using Sinopharm vaccine. This is part of the "Gotong Royong" scheme in cooperation with the government through the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN).
“In the vaccination process, there are several stages that employees must go through,” said Dian.
First, they register, after which check body temperature, blood pressure, and health screening.
If considered healthy, employees get vaccine jabs. Then to stay in the vaccination area for medical observation of Post-Immunization Adverse Events (AEFI) for half an hour.
Employees are allowed to return to work if there are no complaints.
After the inoculation, Muammal Rasyid, Adaro's HR Department staff, said he had no significant complaints. “Just the injection marks hurt a bit. I think it's natural, as we usually have an injection,” he said.
