Rescue teams from five districts in South Kalimantan conducted a joint exercise in Nateh Village, Batang Alai Timur (BAT) Sub-district, Central Hulu Sungai (HST) District, Saturday (3/7).

"Our participants are limited to five districts, namely Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Hulu Sungai (HSS), North Hulu Sungai (HSU), Balangan, and Tabalong," said the organizing committee from Pahuluan Rescue, Incus.

The activity which lasted for two days from 3 to 4 July 2021 was attended by 36 representatives of the rescue teams.

"In addition to being explained about rescue and SAR, participants directly practice in the field. The river and nature in Nateh Village are very strategic for training," he said.

The methode of assistance in the water as well as depend and release were delivered directly by the expert, Edy Supriatna from Kalimantan Kayak.

"This activity is an initiative of rescue friends to increase experience and readiness in dealing with emergency response in the event of a disaster," he added.

One of the participants from Sunting Malayang Rescue (SMR) Faisal and his friends acknowledged that they were very enthusiastic about participating in the joint exercise in Nateh Village.

"Learning from our experience as volunteers during the January 14 flood disaster, we need to learn many things in a disaster, especially in the technical field when we are in the field," he said.
