South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad distributed jerseys to Muay Thai athletes to motivate them before competing in the upcoming 11th South Kalimantan Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in 2022.
He said the motivation and attention given was because Muay Thai was a new sport in HSS, and it is hoped to gain gold medals with a target of five gold medals in Porprov 2022.
"I deliberately come directly to the Muay Thai training ground to see the readiness of the athletes, as well as motivate them to stay focus on facing 11th Porprov," he said, Friday (11 June).
All Muay Thai athletes are expected to train optimally to achieve the best achievement in the biggest sporting event at the provincial level, and this is the first that Muay Thai is competed in the Porprov.

Muay Thai coach Supraja Putra said they were 10 athletes, 5 men, 5 women with different weights. To face Porprov, the athletes have been doing exercises and entering the third week.
“Hopefully with focus practice, we can win gold medals according to the target of five golds,” he said.
