The City Government of Banjarmasin declared that modern shopping centers, such as malls, must be closed during May 13-16, 2021 to anticipate crowds during Idul Fitri 1442 Hijriyah holidays.

Acting Mayor Akhmad Fydayeen announced the decision after a coordination meeting with the COVID-19 Task Force at the City Hall, Monday.

The Mayor issued a circular dated May 10 regarding the temporary closure of tourist attractions, tourist services, entertainment and recreation services, malls, cafes, restaurants, and places that could potentially cause the crowds in Banjarmasin City.

"To anticipate crowds during Idul Fitri and national holidays, it is necessary to temporarily close places that have the potential to cause crowds, as mentioned in the circular," he said.
