Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin's Legislative Asembly (DPRD) Speaker Iwan Rusmali said 17 countries will be invited to the river conference to be held here.


This is a follow-up of  river conference in Germany some time ago, which he attended along with Banjarmasin Vice Mayor Irwan Ansari, City Secretary Zulfadli Gajali, and Head of Water Resources and Drainage Agency Muryanta.

During the conference, Banjarmasin delegation presented about the river in the capital of South Kalimantan province, that representatives of other countries admitted impressed.

"They (in between the river conference) intends to see directly, so plans advanced to hold a conference in Banjarmasin," he said on Tuesday.

He explained, countries delegations such as Germany, Italy, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, France and others who were present at the time, said they would seek to come at the event which coinsides with Banjarmasin anniversary on 24 September 2015.

The plan, he added, will be reported to the South Kalimantan provincial governments and the central government, because the conference is an interstate event.

"Hopefully developed countries later glance at the potential that exists in our rivers, both in forms of investment and support for maintenance, because the area where we are rich of river rare in other countries," he explained.
