Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Clean water services to 27,112 local government owned taps company (PDAM) Intan Banjar, South Kalimantan, customers to be disrupted due to routine maintenance of Riam Kanan irrigation channels.


PDAM Intan Banjar Technical Director, Said Omar, here on Thursday said water distribution disturbance will be lasted five days from February 28 to March 4, 2015.

"Maintenance of the primary channels along the irrigation is a routine activity conducted by the Ministry of Public Works and the Director General of Water Resources through the South Kalimantan Public Works Agency," he told reporters.

He said, tens of thousands of taps customers affected by maintenance of irrigation channels spread in most Banjarbaru and Martapura, Banjar.

He explained that the maintenance of irrigation channels aimed at blocking the growth of weeds causing a reduction in the flow of water in the irrigation canal.

"Reduced water flow in irrigation channels made of raw water sources in the Water Treatment Plant (IPA) II Pinus decreased, resulting in the production of clean water can not be maximized," he said.

Said, who was accompanied by Head of Public Relations M Anwar, Head of Production Noor Ifansyah and Head Hublang Khuzaymah said the company sought to be minimized disruption of water supply.

"The trick, we will increase the supply of water from the IPA Syarkawi in order to reach to the center Banjarbaru and Martapura so that water services remain smooth," he said.
