Batulicin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Director of the government owned water company PDAM Tanah Bumbu Sobari urged customers in the sub-district of Kusan Hilir not to use tap water as drinking water for a while.
"Because of the water we produced is less hygienic," said Sobari in Batulicin on Saturday.
Water distributed in recent weeks is just enough to be used as a water for bath, wash and purposes other than for drinking.
He explained that the water distributed has been processed through purification is feared that raw water sources are affected by the activities of a company.
"These conditions will get worse, when there is heavy rain and flooding from upstream of the river led to water increasingly turbid and the water quality is getting lower," he said.
Sobari claimed its a moral burden when not serving customers. So that, despite the raw water quality dropped dramatically, PDAM still perform water purification for distribution to customers.
Head of the Tanah Bumbu Environment Agency (BLHD) Erno said to the alleged contamination of raw water, it then sent a summons to the company that is suspected to be the cause of contamination of raw water.
"BLHD also warned that company to perform testing of waste to be disposed of so as not to pollute the environment," he said.
If the BLHD warning not noticed by the company, then BLHD will give a ban letter not to remove water of any kind.
