Environment and humanitarian activist Perkumpulan Hijau Daun or Green Leaf Association (PHD) Banjarmasin in collaboration with the government-owned wastewater treatment company PD PAL continue to consistently carry out environmental action and social service to schools, places of worship, and housing neighborhoods.

They did post-flood cleaning, cleaning garbage, planting trees, also sprayed disinfectants.

The latest was at the state elementary school SDN Pasar Lama 1. Here they sprayed disinfectant to deter COVID-19 transmission, said one of their members Selfie Effendi, Monday.

Dozens of Hijau Daun members and PD PAL employees were involved in the action. They entered the crevices and corners of the school.

Previously, PHD cleaned the mud from several schools' grounds, such as SDN Pangambangan, which had been affected by the flood.

At the junior high school SMPN 27 Sungai Andai, the mud that had accumulated in the schoolyard was quite thick. The cleaning took quite a long time.

PHD also planted trees at schools and provided environmental education for teachers and students considering they were the spearhead of environmental preservation in schools to make them clean, shady, beautiful, and comfortable to make learning comfortable.

PHD Banjarmasin has also scheduled to help schools become Adiwiyata schools, she said.
