The environmental organization Perkumpulan Hijau Daun or Green Leaf Association (PHD) Banjarmasin in collaboration with the city waste company PD PAL planting trees and cleaning schools affected by flood last month.

Today (Friday), they took action at the state elementary school SDN Pangambangan 6, East Banjarmasin, together with Head of Education Office Totok Agus, Director of PD Pal Rahmatullah, as well as teachers and Adiwiyata guiding teachers.

Chairman of Hijau Daun Banjarmasin Uncle Anum said it was their fifth action after the flood. They also cleaned sewers and roads from mud and providing education on the environment to schools.

They scheduled to continue their action to SDN Surgi Mufti, then on Saturday to junior high school SMPN 27 Sungai Andai. Next is SDN Banua Anyar 4, SDN Sungai Bilu 3, SDN Pangambangan 5, Aifaqa Ul Husna Mosque, SDN Sungai Miai 1, and SMPN 19.

During the flood, the organization, which is under the Forum Komunitas Hijau, distributed basic food to flood victims and evacuated victims from various places.

Previously, Hijau Daun carried out 24 disinfectant sprayings to prevent COVID-19 from spreading. They regularly plant trees and clean rivers from rubbish.
