Head of the South Kalimantan Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Tejo Harwanto said that throughout 2020 as many as 40,130 foreign nationals (WNA) who entered the province were dominated by ship crews.
"This depicts the large number of foreigners in South Kalimantan and thus supervision is very indispensable," he said in Banjarmasin, Wednesday.
Through Foreigner Watch Team (Timpora), which is a combination of various related agencies, he hopes that foreigners in South Kalimantan will truly provide positive benefits and not become a threat to security and order in the province.
"Timpora must be more maximal in immigration oversight of traffic of foreigners in and out, as well as their presence and activities," he said after opening coordination meeting of Timpora at the Rattan Inn Hotel Banjarmasin.
Meanwhile, Head of the Immigration Division of the office Teodorus Simarmata said all elements in the team continued to exchange information to ensure that no violations were committed by foreigners.
"Foreign ship crews entered South Kalimantan through the Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) of Trisakti Port and the Kotabaru Port checkpoint. These two entry points must be closely guarded, including for COVID-19 prevention, so they do not carry disease viruses," said Teo, who is also the chief of South KalimantanTimpora.
South Kalimantan Timpora consists of representatives from the Provincial Office of Law and Human Rights Ministry, the provincial police, the provincial government, the provincial Drug Agency (BNNP), the Regional State Intelligence Agency, the 101/Antasari Provincial Military Command, Sjamsudin Noor Air Base, Banjarmasin Naval Base, Kotabaru Naval Base, South Kalimantan Prosecutors Office, and Regional Tax Office.
