Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Regent H Bambang Alamsyah said, dragon fruit is a very promising potential for farmers. Even Tanah Laut for South Kalimantan has the largest dragon fruit plantation.


"Dragon fruit cultivation in Tanah Laut reach 150 hectares spread over several sub-districts in the area," said H Bambang in Pelaihari, Thursday (22/1).

Tanah Laut's dragon fruit not only marketed in South Kalimantan, but has come to Central Kalimantan. "It has a very sweet taste," he said.

Seeing these potential, district government certainly not stay silent but promoting it out the area. "We will help marketing via box car to Banjarmasin and Banjarbaru, so more people know dragon fruit from
Tanah Laut," he explained.

With the success of dragon fruit cultivation in Tanah Laut, the next step is it will serve as the mainstay of the area. "We want to be known as dragon fruit Tanah Laut flagship product, the same as montong durian from Thailand," he said.
