President Joko Widodo through the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) distributed one thousand packages of assistance for people affected by flood in Balangan received by the local BPBD and TNI at Tugu Maritam, Balangan, to be then distributed to the victims.

Head of the Balangan BPBD Alive Yoesfah Love in Paringin, Wednesday (Jan 20, 2021) said that the assistance will be distributed in stages.

"Especially today we distribute 75 packages for the first phase, then 250 packages in the second, and the remaining will gradually be distributed the next day," he said.

The aid package in the form of rice, cooking oil, tea, and masks was distributed by TNI-Polri and BPBD for people affected by floods.

According to Alive, until now the total number of residents affected by the floods in Balangan is approximately 19,100. It is hoped that assistance from the President to ease the burden on the residents in the midst of ongoing flood disaster.
