The South Kalimantan Provincial Police immediately safeguarded the storage area for COVID-19 vaccines after arrived at the Bumi Lambung Mangkurat (nickname of South Kalimantan), Tuesday.
"Members are divided into two shifts in a day, each on duty for 12 hours guarding the vaccine storage place," said Head of the Operation Bureau Sr Comr (Kombespol) Moch. Noor Subchan in Banjarbaru.
Each team on guard consists of six Brimob (Mobile Brigade) personnel, four members of the Directorate of Samapta (Rapid Response) and three members of Banjarbaru Police. The team secured the Installation Building of Pharmacy Warehouse and Health Equipment on Jalan Ahmad Yani km 22 Banjarbaru as a storage place for the vaccines.
Subchan guarantees the safety of vaccine storage, including when distributed to districts and cities up to the community health centers (puskesmas) when the vaccination stage takes place.
"In accordance with the instruction from the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) and South Kalimantan Provincial Police Chief Insp.Gen. (Irjen) Rikwanto, the safety of vaccines must really be guarded until the process of vaccination to the public," he said.
As many as 25 thousand doses of the planned 54,000 doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines arrived in South Kalimantan via the Cargo Terminal at Syamsudin Noor International Airport.
Vaccine immunization is planned to be carried out simultaneously on January 14. The South Kalimantan Health Office has prepared vaccinators.
The Ministry of Health determines priority groups for vaccine recipients are health workers, supporting personnel who work at health service facilities, TNI (Armed Forces), Polri (Police), and public service officers.
