Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan provincial government is targeting production of soybean in Tanah Laut in 2015 as many as 2,000 tons.
"In 2015 we were given the provincial government's target for the production of 2,000 tons of soybeans," said Tala Vice Regent H Sukamta in Pelaihari (capital of the district, 65 km east of Banjarmasin) on Thursday.
According to him, the target requested by the provincial government is a challenge for Tala to be able to realize the soybean production of 2,000 tons. As a form of support, the provincial government provided equipment and seeds.
He said that, Tanah Laut should be proud of the noble task as a responsibility given by the provincial government.
"I hope the group of farmers who have developed soybean field of agriculture, not only soy farming. However, other farming ought to be developed, such as raising cattle," he explained.
