Barabai, South Kalimantan (Kalimantan Antaranews) - Gradasi Hijau Volunteer in Central Hulu Sungai builds library for children who live in Meratus Mountains.


This is to help improve the knowledge of village children and eradicate illiteracy from the society, Gradasi Hijau coordinator Ichunk said in Barabai on Thursday.

The library is called the "base camp" Meratus will be a medium to foster interest in reading, writing, numeracy for children in rural Meratus, namely Kampung Cabai, 20 kilometers from the city of Barabai with long travel approximately 60 minutes.

According to Ichunk, besides causing interest in reading, the volunteers will share knowledge with rural children or parents who are interested in learning more reading, writing, numeracy so they do not miss the children in urban areas.

"We're going to raise donations for the" basecamp Meratus" book and have gained the support from many parties, both are individual or institutional," he said.

Until now, it still requires a donation of books in elementary school textbooks also preferred writing instrument. He also urged residents who have books worth reading but unused better to be donated to basecamp.
