Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Center of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, on Thursday morning since about 06.00 shrouded in thick smog, since about 06.00, thereby disrupting the activities of local communities.


Antaranews monitoring haze that arising from land and forest fires took up almost the entire space of the city, which is now the administrative center of the province of South Kalimantan.

A number of places that blanketed by thick smog in the city such as a local government office area and Murjani field on Jalan Panglima Batur. The area is only faintly visible due to the thick smog.

In fact, the distance between City Hall with a field less than 50 meters, but the thick smog causes the building only faintly visible. The open space around the pitch area filled with dense smog.


Too thick smog blanketed the road sections which filled with riders both two-wheeled or four, so it is quite disturbing activities of citizens.

Visibility in urban road sections and settlements restricted under 50 yards and led to the foresight and the other way is only vaguely.

"The fog is very thick today. The visibility is also limited below 50 meters and make the building look vaguely," said Risma, the resident of Jalan Gotong Royong.

Other residents, Ahyar, complained effects of smog that causes sore eyes and interfere respiratory tract because the dirty air particles directly inhaled.

"I have sore eyes and respiratory tract as well have gone bad due to inhalation of smog. The current condition is more severe than the previous days," said the resident of Karang Anyar.

Until 08:00 am, the distribution of haze still meet all Banjarbaru region, so that people anticipate using a mask covering the nose and mouth.
