The city government of Banjarmasin through the Health Office is intensifying child immunization program during the COVID-19 pandemic, to meet this year's target.

"Of the 71 percent target, the child immunization program is running at 51 percent. In the remaining time we will catch up," said Head of Banjarmasin Health Office Machli Riyadi, Wednesday.

However, he admitted, the program during the COVID-19 pandemic has been hampered, then a workshop was held to help boost it.

"We invited all elements of the community in this activity, including community leaders, religious leaders, youth leaders, members of press, Islamic boarding school, to provide knowledge to the participants about immunization," he said.

The event was also to commemorate the National Health Day (HKN) 2020 to produce healthy and strong future generations. 

“The Banjarmasin City Government through the Health Office continues to carry out immunization during the COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
