Mubadala Petroleum, which is now working on two off coast contracts (KKS), KKS Sebuku in the Makassar Strait, and KKS Kerapu in the Natuna Sea, will drill a new exploration well of Yaqut 1 in the Sebuku Block.
The company, which is fully owned by Mubadala Development Company, is now actively conducting socialization by involving the Kotabaru government, Forkopimda (Regional Leadership Communication Forum), related agency, and local fishermen association, including Kotabaru Fishermen Asssociation and Saijaan Fishermen Association.
Mubadala Petroleum is an international upstream oil and gas exploration and production, which is founded in June 2012. In Indonesia, the company has been operating since 2003 through Pearl Oil.
Abu Dhabi's Mubadala's operation and assets are spreading in 12 countries, mostly in the Middle East, Africa, Central and Southeast Asia. Mubadala Petroleum's production is currently around 400,000 barrels of oil per day.
The socialization through video conference at the Grand Surya Hotel Ballroom on Tuesday related to the plan to open new drilling well in Sebuku Block. It was attended by Kotabaru Regional Secretary H Said Akhmad.
H Said Akhmad said, the local government is very supportive of Mubadala and hopes the company will continue to increase its investment in Kotabaru.
"The government is very open to investment into Kotabaru, including in the oil and gas sector in order of the national energy security," he said.
