Regional Secretary (Sekda) H Dahnial Kifli said after Tanah Laut became a Child-Friendly District (KLA) in the last two years, he wanted Handil Maluka Village to become child-friendly village.

Dahnial wants the village in the Bumi Makmur Sub-district to be a friendly village for children and can fulfill all children's rights.

“It can be from the games here that are friendly to children, do not provide toys made of iron or ironwood that can hurt our children. We should also fulfill their health and education. If the parents are farmers, their children must be engineers or the better,” he said when he attended a thanksgiving in the village, Tuesday (Oct 13,2020).

The Sekda suggested that parents actively monitor and pay attention to the behavior and social interaction of their children. He also reminded that there should be no more exploitation, physical and mental violence against children.

“Don't let our children be forced to work, and don't just play hitting, our country based on law. That includes violence and can be criminalized,” he said.

The thanksgiving activity was also filled with law counseling on child protection by Head of Tanah Laut Prosecutor's OfficeAbdul Rahmandan and Head of the Tanah Laut Legal Affairs Alfirial.

The activity was attended by Acting Head Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Agency H  Zainal Abidin and Chairperson of South Kalimantan Consultation and Legal Aid for Women and Family Institute Yulia.
