Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) H. Achmad Fikry together with Deputy Regent Syamsuri Arsyad closely inspected the newly finished constructed landfill (TPA) which began functioning in Sungai Raya Selatan Village, Sungai Raya Sub-district.

He asked that the use of plastic in the district to be reduced and suggested in the future there should be a movement not to use plastic, so as to reduce the impact of excessive plastic waste.

"Earlier, before conducting the inspection, we planted Ketapang Kencana (Terminalia mantaly) tree seedling for greening around the new final disposal," he said, Wedneday (Oct 7, 2020).

He asked that the new landfill to be managed properly, to eliminate the notion that the dumpsite is disgusting, which makes some people fear and avoid it.

With tree planting and good management, so that the landfill location looks green and clean, people will be happy and comfortable seeing it.

Meanwhile, the old landfill which was not functioning had been handed over to the related company and had been replaced by the construction of landfill in a new location.

Also attending, the Head of Public Housing, Settlement and Environment Agency (Dispera KPLH) Ronaldy P Putra, Head of Good and Service Procurement Mahyuni, Sungai Raya Sub-district secretary, and officers from Dispera KPLH.
