Pelaihari, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Director of the Tanah LautTap-Water Company (PDAM), Eko Sugiharto, said his company has minimal raw water source.
"Because of the lack of water sources, thus it causes the shortage in supply of clean water to customers in the dry season like now," he said in Pelaihari on Tuesday.
There is only one raw water sources for PDAM Tanah Laut (Tala) currently, namely Taboneo River. "If the water in the river to dry, the water supply in the city of Pelaihari increasingly critical," he said.
"Lack of water availability in the dry season inflicts non-customer citizens, so as to meet the needs for water supply, we provide three tank cars for Pelaihari community," he said.
Given this reality, Tala taps company with local governments plan for development of water sources around the plantation of PTPN XIII, it would be an Embong that can hold water during the dry season.
Dam construction is planned to begin in 2015.
