Banjarmasin, Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Head of South Kalimantan Mines and Energy Agency Kustono Widodo said, subsidized diesel distribution here has exceeded quota and until the end of December it is predicted to exceed conditions set by central government.

Kustono at a "coffe morning" in Abdi Persada Hall, Provincial Government Office, on Wednesday, said that based on data obtained from Pertamina, diesel consumption for August 2014 reached 179 thousand kiloloter over 151 thousand kiloliters set quota.

"When the realization of diesel each month continues to exceed, the quota might not be enough to end of year," he said.

Based on the data, he added, subsidized diesel for South Kalimantan is 26 thousand kl per month, so in the next five months 130 thousand kl required.

When subsidized diesel channeling still happen like today, he added, then to the end of December 2014 it reach 312 thousand kl. It predicted to have shortage quota to 53 thousand kl.

One way to anticipate these things, he said, is to improve surveillance in the field ranging from distribution of fuel in the fuel stations to shipment, so to minimize distortion.

Moreover, he added, there should be strict legal action against persons who misuse of subsidized fuel, not to its provisions.
