Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Kotabaru will develop  Gusti Syamsir Alam Stagen Airport to land and sea, in order to serve the landing of large aircraft.


"If only develop to land, the length of the runway is still not as expected, so the need for the development of airport is land and sea," said Regent Kotabaru, H Irhami Ridjani, here on Friday. 

Stagen Airport runway plans to be developed from 1,650 meters to 2,650 meters in order to serve large aircraft. However, the development, continued regent, still waiting for an alternative road construction given to the development plan will hit the road towards the land that is now the status of "provincial road" in Stagen. 

The government has also set up an alternative road which was built in the complex of Polytechnic, Kotabaru. 

Head of Transportation Agency Sugian Noor said Stagen airport development plan is estimated to cost about Rp 1 trillion. 

He explained previously existing proposed extension of the airport runway, but can not be implemented because it has not received approval from Kotabary legislative assembly. 

Sugian look forward to the extension of the runway, that the airport can serve large aircraft types, and will encourage the opening of new routes for Kotabaru to major cities in Indonesia.
