PT Adaro Metcoal Companies continues to provide empathy to the people of Murung Raya District, Central Kalimantan, who are affected by COVID-19.

Through creative ideas, its CSR team succeeded in assembling 13 handwashing facilities by utilizing the remaining material in the warehouse.

The handwashing facilities were then distributed in two urban villages (kelurahan) and eight villages (desa) through three community health centers (PKM) in the vicinity of PT AMC in Murung Raya.

"This activity further enhances empathy and teamwork, especially concern for the surrounding communities affected by COVID-19," said AMC's Community Development Section Head Sri Armiyati Jarkasi.

Sri said that many things had been planned in 2020, but could not be done due to coronavirus outbreak in all parts of the country and even the world.

This condition made the AMC's CSR team think to develop and determine the right strategy related to the implementation of CSR amid the pandemic.

"AMC decided that the 2020 CSR program would focus on assisting the government in the fight against COVID-19," Sri pointed out.

One of which was by self-assembling handwashing facilities that could be used by the people of Murung Raya.

The assembling began on April 9, 2020 by utilizing the remaining material taken from the warehouse, some other material were purchased using CSR budgets.

According to Sri, this creative idea also appeared due to handwashing facilities were needed quickly in the current condition, thus if you make them your own workmanship the process will be quick with the results according to the AMC desired standard.
