Regent of Kotabaru H Sayed Jafar symbolically handed over BLT Dana Desa (village funds unconditional cash transfers) to two residents of Pantai Village in the coastal area of Kelumpang Selatan Sub-district, Friday.

As many as 86 heads of family (KK) from Pantai Village residents received BLT Dana Desa then food packages for 540 KK in nine other villages.

In his remarks, Regent H Sayed Jafar said, the government would continue to provide assistance to brothers and sisters in the sub-districts affected by COVID-19.

"This is a form of concern from the government to ease the burden of people in the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, use this assistance as well as possible," he said.

He appealed to residents to always pay attention to health and donot forget to always wear masks everywhere when making activities outside home.

Meanwhile, Kelumpang Selatan Sub-district Head Siti Sarah thanked the assistance provided by the local government for the community of Kelumpang Selatan.

"I represent the residents to thank, this assistance is very beneficial for our people, especially in the midst of the current pandemic. We will use it well," she said.

In addition to Kelumpang Selatan, similar assistance was also handed over to residents of Kelumpang Barat with 360 food packages and BLT-DD for 352 KK in six villages, and as many as 600 food packages for 10 villages in Sampanahan Sub-district.
