Head of the South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Health Agency as spokesperson of Task Force for the Handling Acceleration of COVID-19 doctor Siti Zainab said there was an increase of confirmed positive case in the district.
The addition of the two cases occurred after the swab test of the two patients, which was sent on May 16, 2020, received on Wednesday (May 27, 2020) and declared that both were positive for COVID-19. They were a resident of Daha Utara Sub-district and one from Kalumpang Sub-district.
"These two positive patients will be treated starting today in the isolation room of the District Hospital of Brigjend H Hasan Basry Kandangan for further medical treatment," she said.
According to her, the patient from Daha Utara was the wife of a Gowa cluster patient who had previously been confirmed positive and was treated at the Ulin Banjarmasin Hospital.
While the other patient was ODP (People Under Monitoring), who previously traveled to Palangkaraya, Central Kalimantan. He was known to have symptoms of COVID-19 when coming home. After rapid tested, he was found reactive, then swab test conducted and the result was positive.
The team planned to carry out a test on the patient's neighbors, who live in front, right, left, and behind the patient's house.
With the addition of th two confirmed cases, the positive cases in HSS became eight, three of them are treated at the Kandangan Hospital, four had recovered, and one person died.
