A spokesperson for the South Hulu Sungai (HSS) COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force doctor Siti Zainab stated, a Patient Under Surveillance (PDP) with a code name HBS-12, a male (20) from Daha Selatan Sub-district, died.
She said, the patient had not undergone a swab test yet, and his funeral would be carried out according to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that apply to COVID-19 patients.
"The patient died tonight, Saturday (April 18, 2020) at 20.08 Wita (Central Indonesia Time) at the Brigjend H Hasan Basry Kandangan General Hospital," she said in a press statement of the HSS COVID-19 Task Force.
The patient had entered the hospital on the same day at 14.15 Wita, and had experienced a fever since 10 days ago, with shortness of breath, coughing, and liquid defecating.
He had a history of a close contact with a friend from Samarinda on Sunday (April 5), and had just returned from traveling to Kasongan, Central Kalimantan Province.

The death of the HBS-12 patient become the second during the coronavirus pandemic in HSS. A day before, a patient with a code name HBS-3, male (58), also a resident of Daha Selatan, died.
HSB-3 had been swab tested, but the first result was negative, then the second swab test carried out and the result was still doubtful. The third swab test was planned, but he died and buried according to COVID-19 SOP.
Meanwhile, PDPs now being treated at the isolation rooms in Kandangan Hospital are HBS-4 patient, male (32) from Daha Selatan, condition stable, HSB-10, male (15) from Padang Batung, condition stable, HBS-11, male (12) from Padang Batung, also in stable condition, HBS-13, male (46), from Kandangan, condition stable. All PDPs are still waiting for the swab test.
