The Warden of Class IIb Amuntai Penitentiary Dwi Hartono said the Correctional Resolution is applied this year to overcome the excess amount of occupancy (over capacity).
At present, as many as 349 inmates and 144 detainees inhabit 21 rooms in the Amuntai Penitentiary.
"Hopefully with the remission many prisoners can be released more quickly, thereby reducing the density of inmates in each room," Dwi Hartono said in Amuntai, Thursday (Feb 27, 2020).
He said, at the 15 points of Correctional Resolution declared by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights' Directorate General of correction there was a plan for granting remissin to 288.530 prisoners in 2020.
There is also an integration program in the form of parole, conditional leave, and leave before free to 69.358 inmates.

The problems of over-capacity, both in prisons and in detention houses are known to be the problems faced throughout the country. Specifically, in Amuntai Prison there was a plan to add a new building in the previous year, but it was not realized yet.
In addition, in order to implement Correctional Resolution, Amuntai Prison planned four pieces of training for inmates in collaboration with the Livestock Agency and Job Training Center.

The ministry, he said, seeks to improve the quality of WBP (free of corruption area) into superior human resources through certified training to 35.860 prisoners in all correctional houses in Indonesia.
