The District Government of Central Hulu Sungai (HST), South Kalimantan, is optimistic to realize a Child-Friendly District (CFD).
The key to realizing it, according to the District Secretary HA Tamzil, is by harmonizing and synchronizing the program activities and the budget, it sure would make the HST a child-friendly district.
"We don't want our children to become a generation that fails to reach out the future. This is our duty to deliver them to succeed in the future," Tamzil said, as he represented the regent in a coordination meeting of CFD Task Force here, Monday (Feb 3, 2020).
The coordination meeting was attended by DPRD speaker, head of state apparatus organization (OPD), officials from Social Agency, Population Control for Family Planning and Women's Empowerment for Child Protection, all sub-districts heads, at the Bappelitbangda Hall.
A child-friendly District (CFD) is a district, town, community or any system of local governance committed to improving the lives of children within their jurisdiction by realizing their rights as articulated in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In practice, it is a district, town or community in which the voices, needs, priorities and rights of children are an integral part of public policies, programs, and decisions.
Here children are protected from exploitation, violence, and abuse.
