The Indonesian Sport Climbing Federation (FPTI) chapter Tabalong held the 2020 Kalimantan Regional Rock Climbing Competition in order to revive the sport for the younger generation.
Head of the committee Arif Nur Budiman said here, as many as 101 climbing athletes from various provinces took part in the competition.
"Eight numbers are contested and hundreds of climbers will compete in agility in this event," Arif said, Thursday (Jan 23, 2020).
Regent of Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani when opened the competition, to be held from January 23 to 26, 2020, said that this event was proof that there is (always) space for young people.
"This is the first activity in Tabalong that responds to the determination we have planned," he remarked.
With a total prize of Rp40 million, this event was popular among local and outside climbing athletes.
Anang hoped that Tabalong could build a more representative venue for rock climbing.
