The United Arab Emirates-based Mubadala Petroleum in Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, gave scholarships to Kotabaru Polytechnic students.


Mubadala's Acting External Relations & Communications Manager Camelia Martini here on Tuesday (Dec 17, 2019) remarked, this scholarship should be utilzed as well as possible by the recipient students to complete their education at the Kotabaru Polytechnic.

"In addition to scholarship support, Mubadala Petroleum has also actively participated in providing training and certification of Basic General OHS experts and improving campus accreditation," she pointed out.

Director of Kotabaru Polytechnic Ibnu Faozi said, Mubadala Petroleum has been providing scholarship for the Kotabaru Polytechnic students since 2015, and as many as 84 students have received the assistance.

"The students who to receive the scholarship were determined from the result of selection of all registered participants," he told.

In the academic year of 2019/2020, Mubadala Petroleum has granted the support for 40 students. They came from underprivileged families who can afford to complete their studies at the polytechnic.

Chairman of the Foundation of Saijaan Kotabaru Education Development Soegian Noor gave his appreciation to Mubadala for helping male and female students of Kotabaru, specifically in improving the quality of education and human resources in Kotabaru. He hoped this support to continue in the future.

A member of Kotabaru DPRD, Gewsima Mega Putra, advised the scholarship recipients to make the most of this oppotunity.

Assitant of Administration of Kotabaru, Hasbi M Thawab, who represented Regent of Kotabaru, expressed the highest appreciation to Mubadala Petroleum for providing scholarship and other supports for students.

Through its CSR, Mubadala has helped the youth of Kotabaru in facing the challanges of manpower and employment. 

Currently, four Kotabaru Polytechnic graduates are working at the Ruby Oil and Gas Facility in Makassar Strait operated by Mubadala Petroleum. Two of them are Mubadala scholarship recipient who have graduated and work as interns.

Kotabaru Administration hoped this support will not only help the graduates to get the opportunity to work in various industries in Kotabaru, but also increase the competence of Polytechnic graduates.
