Tabalong has hosted the implementation of the Social Solidarity Border Crossing (LBKS) as part of the peak commemoration of the 2019 National Social Solidarity Day.

Director General of Social Empowerment Pepen Nazaruddin, representing Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara, together with Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani released the LKBS expedition team at the Tabalong Regent's office yard, Saturday (Dec 14, 2019).

This cross-border journey was an effort to socialize and grow solidarity awareness among people from all walks of life, said South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor.

The governor hopes LBKS leaves a meaningful impression in assembling the social solidarity that continues to exist in every changing era. Including fostering a spirit of caring for those who need considering the decline in social life in the community.

The Banua (provincial) Cross expedition team moved by land and river from Tabalong, then Balangan, South Hulu Sungai, Tapin, Banjar and ended in Banjarmasin City.

"The expedition team channeled various kinds of aid through various regions in South Kalimantan," said the Minister in a speech read by the Director General of Social Empowerment Pepen.

"LBKS activities aim to preserve the values of social solidarity formulated in the form of outreach to channel aid," continued Pepen.

As the host of LBKS, Regent Anang Syakhfiani expressed his appreciation for the presence of the Ministry of Social Affairs team and South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor that the event became more meaningful.

"Currently Tabalong is preparing itself as a buffer district and this activity can have a positive impact on regional development," Anang said.
